Tenho de agradecer há M. (as coisas que aprendo com a minha filha) ter-me dado a conhecer uma das melhores pérolas literárias que li nos ultimos tempos, e que confesso desconhecia. Fica o registo de algumas das passagens que mais me tocaram. Qualquer semelhança com a realidade da Europa dos nossos dias, só pode ser pura coincidência...

Seguimos a par e passo as celebrações do Diamond Jubilee quer através da televisão quer no local. Quisemos estar presentes neste momento tão especial para a História deste País que nos acolheu, que nos deu a mão quando mais precisamos, que nos devolveu a esperança, e trouxe de volta a luz ao nosso caminho, que nos ajudou a superar os nossos medos, a travar as nossas batalhas e a manter a nossa fé ... no futuro e na humanidade!

Midnight in Paris

Tive finalmente a oportunidade de ver o filme "Meia-Noite em Paris". Já o tinhamos a algum tempo mas por uma ou outra razão era constantemente adiado. Tinha lido alguns reviews menos favoraveis. Mas pessoalmente gostei muito. Gostei de poder regressar a Paris, gostei do enredo, das personagens e gostei sobretudo da mensagem. Recordei então as sábias palavras do Edson Athayde, sobre o mesmo :

"É duro sentir-se contemporâneo do pretérito. Fazemos isso um pouco todos os dias quando recordamos da época em que o mundo era mais calmo, que a vida era bonita,...

Temos a mania de hiperbolizar as coisas boas do passado. O mesmo que fazemos com as coisas más do presente. Num caso, como no outro, exageramos."
